A future president once stayed under this roof. Now you can.
Long before he was president, Dwight D. Eisenhower was among the notable guests who passed through this mansion during its decades as IBM's Homestead — a guest list that, at various points, also included Eleanor Roosevelt, Bing Crosby, rocket scientist Wernher von Braun, and golf legends like Ben Hogan, Patty Berg, and Sam Snead. The suite named in his honor is one of the largest and most stately on the property: a king-size four-poster bed, a gas fireplace, and a private terrace overlooking the Susquehanna River Valley.
Reserve This SuiteThis suite is sized for guests who plan to actually use the property — golf in the morning, a hike through the Glen, the Salt Sanctuary in the afternoon — and still want a generously proportioned, fireplace-lit room to come back to. It's the suite Traditions points to when a guest wants "executive" and "adventurous" in the same trip.
Executives who want a presidential-sized room without sacrificing comfort
Golf groups looking to upgrade their stay
Couples who want history and adventure in the same trip
History-minded guests interested in the property's 20th-century guest list

We enjoyed our stay at Traditions. Although a little older, our room was squeaky clean with a fireplace and comfortable bed, and was equipped with a Keurig and very nice toiletries. Breakfast was complimentary with a decent assortment to choose from. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bar and restaurant on site, and the property can't be beat if you like to get up in the morning and take a peaceful walk in the glen.
Outstanding Stay
This place is a true gem! We really had an outstanding experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the sitting areas, breakfast, and everywhere else matched in excellent level of cleanliness. The rooms were well appointed, classically styled and had an heir of timelessness. The bed had 2 bathrobes which was such a nice and comfy touch to wind the day down. Breakfast (included with stay) was so delicious. Fresh eggs/bacon/sausage/potatoes/cereal/breads/fruit juice/coffee/cookies/milk/yogurt/belgium waffles. I am sure I am missing something but the whole idea is the breakfast was not basic and it tasted so delicious. Every morning I could smell it being made as I was waking up. ...
Excellent Service and Food
If you like old hotels, this one is classic! I loved the old fashioned architecture of the building, and interior design. on top of this very old looking hotel is superior service, like no other, it is small town feel to it. On top of that, the food is crazy delicious - and i'm picky. Just loved my experience here. oh by the way, we also charged our tesla overnight - WIN!!!
Great Place
Amazing hotel, Amazing staff, Great views. Over all a great place to stay. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to a medical emergency and the staff was beyond accommodating. Certainly will stay again and Highly Recommend
One of a kind
I booked my dad here when he came for his visit, he loved it so much and said this is the only place he will stay from now on, the staff is amazing and it's the personal touch that makes this hotel above all the other corporate ones that are taking over, Traditions is a gem and places like this need to be recognized. Thank you for taking care of my father!
Great for special occasions
I was here for my daughter's wedding shower from out of town. The outside surroundings are beautiful and the rooms inside are also, The buffet food was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. This was a great venue for this event and would be wonderful for any occasion!
Great Experience and Value
Quiet environment, nice white cloth table cosy restaurant and bar with fireplace. Great food at dinner. Adding vegetarian or vegan options to menu though would be an improvement. Nice room in close proximity to spa. Self parking close to main entrance was very helpful.
Beautiful facility, off the beaten path
The Traditions Hotel and Spa was beautiful, off the beaten path, and exactly what I needed after a very long day of traveling. Their complimentary HOT breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The parking was ample, and easy to navigate. I'd definitely stay here again.
Look forward to returning again
A thank you to the staff, especially Monica, for the warm hospitality at breakfast and preparing our upgraded room, as Platinum Status, to a king fireplace, during my husband's 40th birthday trip. We look forward to returning in the summer and winter to explore the full property to golf, hike, and snow-shoe.
